Ann Coulter may be the most controversial writer in America. When Ann made the cover of Time magazine, she didn't forget that Newsmax Magazine had her on our cover in August of 2003.

When Matt Drudge asked Ann on his popular Sunday night radio show how she felt about being on her first major magazine cover, she quickly set the record straight.

Ann Coulter told Drudge that Time was not the first, Newsmax Magazine was.

It's not the first time Newsmax Magazine has beaten the big mags to the punch.

And Newsmax's "Coulter's Fight" cover photo showed Ann as she is, not as she appears in the distorted "fisheye" photo Time used on its cover.

Time's photographer appears to have used a wide "fisheye" lens for the cover photo, stretching Coulter's legs and feet, while shrinking the rest of her body.

Coulter told Drudge that Time used a more flattering photo of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il, noting that the Time photo is so distorted "my own mother would not even recognize me!"

Newsmax's cover photo not only pleased Ann, we even got a nice e-mail from her telling us: "Mother loves your cover story on me! She just read it and said it was her all-time favorite interview."
